ADA Complaint Process

Any person who wishes to file a complaint alleging any action by Caltrain prohibited by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) regulations may file a complaint.

1. To file an ADA complaint, please complete the ADA complaint form below and submit it by mail or e-mail to:

2. If the complainant is unable to write because of a disability and needs assistance in completing the form, Caltrain staff will assist by scribing the complaint by phone. Please call the Customer Service Center at 1-800-660-4287 or dial 711 for the California Relay Service.

3. Caltrain will begin an investigation within ten (10) working days of receipt of a written complaint.

4. If additional information is needed, Caltrain will contact the complainant. If the complainant fails to provide the requested information on a timely basis, Caltrain shall administratively close the complaint.

5. Caltrain will complete the investigation within sixty (60) days of receipt of the complaint. If additional time for investigation is needed, the complainant will be contacted.

6. The ADA Coordinator will prepare a response, which will include a summary of the findings and recommended action. The complainant will have fifteen (15) working days from receipt of the response to appeal. If no appeal is received, the complaint will be closed.
