Fleet Week returns to the Bay Area this weekend, and Caltrain is your convenient ride to all the excitement on the waterfront.
Air shows will light up the skies from 11:15 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 10, and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Caltrain will operate its regular weekday schedule on Friday and half-hourly service throughout the weekend, giving fans an easy way to catch the action.
Riders can disembark at Caltrain’s San Francisco Station and hop on Muni’s 30-Stockton bus to get within a few blocks of the Marina Green, the hub of Fleet Week festivities. San Francisco’s iconic celebration features a parade of naval ships, vessel tours, and breathtaking aerial performances that showcase the best of sea and sky.
Whether you tap your Clipper card, use the Clipper app, or pay with Clipper on your phone’s wallet (Apple or Google), it’s the most convenient — and most affordable — way to ride Caltrain. Clipper offers automatic discounts, including:
- Clipper START: 50% off standard fares for eligible riders
- Youth fare: Just $1 one-way or $2 for a Day Pass for riders 18 and under
Caltrain is a proof-of-payment system, which means tickets are not sold onboard. If not using Clipper, you can buy your ticket:
- At station ticket machines.
- Through the Caltrain Mobile App (the app will be retired Oct. 31)
Day Passes are valid from the time of purchase through the end of that service day. For a smoother experience — especially when heading to events or during peak hours — buy your fare in advance.
Parking at Caltrain stations costs $5.50 for the day, and permits can be purchased using the Caltrain mobile app or through ticket machines onsite. The mobile app can be used immediately after parking, as it requires a space number. Paid parking rules are enforced throughout the day, including weekends and holidays.
Caltrain reminds customers that open alcoholic beverages are prohibited on the trains beginning at 9 p.m. on special event days.
