By Will Reisman, @WillReisman Veterans Day Parade in San Jose: Wednesday will mark a time of recognition and appreciation in the Bay Area, as local residents celebrate Veterans Day. Past and present members of the country’s armed forces will march in San Jose for the 97th anniversary of Armistice Day, which signaled the end of hostilities in World War I and is the predecessor to Veterans Day. Per tradition, the ceremony will start on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, with the parade following at noon on Wednesday. The parade starts at the Plaza de Cesar Chavez in downtown San Jose. Attendees traveling on Caltrain can transfer to the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority’s Route 64 bus for a direct trip to the parade site. Caltrain will be operating on a normal schedule for the holiday, so there will be plenty of options for passengers traveling to San Jose. San Mateo Harvest Festival Returns: More than 24,000 original artistic creations will be on display this weekend at the San Mateo Harvest Festival. The three-day event, which starts on Friday morning and takes place at the San Mateo County Event Center, will feature embellished jewelry displays, pottery and ceramics products, blown glass, and wood art, among other highlights. There will also be live musical performances and a marionette show from puppeteer Scott Land. The county event center, The event center, at 2495 S. Delaware St., is a short walk from the Hillsdale Caltrain Station. Caltrain’s weekday and weekend schedule offers regular service to the station. SamTrans’ Route ECR travels on El Camino Real and stops a few blocks away from the event center. 
MuniMobile App to Debut Next Week: MuniMobile, a smartphone application that will allow passengers on San Francisco’s public transit system to purchase and use fares, will be introduced to a select group of riders on November 16. The app is still in its Beta form, so it will only be available to 1,500 or so passengers, but those who use the program will be able to purchase, store and use single or multiple Muni fares on one device. It will also allow passengers to pay for single-ride fares, cable car tickets and multiple-day passes on the transit system. Muni will be collecting feedback from the participants using the new application to make decisions on when, if and how the program will be rolled out in full.
