Caltrain Welcomes Coldplay Fans to Palo Alto

Caltrain running service to both weekend concerts held at Stanford Stadium

Coldplay fans have been waiting for something just like this at Stanford Stadium this weekend, May 31 and June 1, and Caltrain is ready to take fans for an adventure of a lifetime all weekend long. Caltrain will have staff on site at Palo Alto Station on Saturday, May 31, providing wayfinding information and fielding service inquiries so riders don’t panic.

This joy is electric and it’s circuiting through...much like Caltrain’s new electric trains and weekend schedule, which now offers abundant service to Palo Alto Station, a short walk from the venue. The last northbound train of the evening departs Palo Alto Station at 11:58 p.m., while the last southbound train departs at 12:56 a.m. No extra service will operate prior to or after the shows this weekend, and there will be no service at Stanford Station.

Caltrain is a proof-of-payment system; tickets are not sold onboard trains but can be purchased at station ticket machines or via Caltrain mobile app. Day Passes purchased through the mobile app are valid on the day of purchase through the end of the service day. Fans wishing to avoid a minor delay due to crowds are recommended to use the mobile app to purchase their tickets in advance. Clipper START riders can ride for 50% off a standard fare. Youth Fares are also $1 one way or $2 day passes for passengers 18 and under.

Parking at Caltrain stations costs $5.50 for the day, and permits can be purchased using the Caltrain mobile app or through ticket machines onsite. The mobile app can be used immediately after parking, as it requires a space number. Paid parking rules are enforced throughout the day, including weekends and holidays.

Caltrain reminds customers singing that hymn for the weekend that open alcoholic beverages are prohibited on the trains beginning at 9 p.m. on special event days.
