Following their successful debuts this past weekend, Super Bowl City and the NFL Experience are becoming part of the landscape of San Francisco. To make sure that fans can get to these great attractions, Caltrain has added capacity, providing passengers with a smooth ride to the San Francisco Caltrain Station at 4th and King streets. Once at the San Francisco Caltrain Station, fans have a few options for taking the last leg of their trip to Super Bowl City and the NFL Experience. Families travelling to Super Bowl City, located at Justin Herman Plaza—a scenic park situated along the city’s famous Embarcadero arterial—have an easy trip from the San Francisco Caltrain Station. Muni’s N-Judah Metro line, a light-rail service, has a stop at the corner of 4th Street and King Street, directly adjacent to the San Francisco station. Passengers boarding at the stop can take the N-Judah directly to the Embarcadero Station, which is a short, one-block walk from Justin Herman Plaza. Single-ride fares cost $2.25 on Muni and the trip takes about 10 minutes. Caltrain Super Bowl Wayfinding For fans hoping to travel to the NFL Experience, located at the Moscone Center, the trip from the San Francisco Caltrain Station is similarly easy. Muni’s 30-Stockton and 45-Union buses both stop at a bus shelter at 4thand King streets next to the Caltrain station. The buses travel directly up 3rd Street and stop at Howard Street. The convention center is located at 4th Street and Howard Street. Additionally, the convention center is less than a mile from the San Francisco Caltrain Station, so travelers could walk to the site in about 15 minutes up 4th Street. There are plenty of helpful resources for families taking public transportation to the sites. The Bay Area’s Transit 511 provides trip-planning tools and offers live updates on traffic conditions and transit services. Caltrain’s Super Bowl website lists information on service and scheduling plans, plus important details on security, fare and alcohol policies. At the San Francisco Caltrain Station, there are signs and other wayfinding materials to help direct passengers to their transfer points on Muni. With 1 million people expected to visit the Bay Area for the Super Bowl, traffic and parking will be difficult commodities to deal with, particularly with all the street closures surrounding the NFL Experience and Super Bowl City sites. Public transit can be a stress-free option to get to those attractions.
