Caltrain Welcomes New Directors, Elects Officers for 2017
The Peninsula Corridor Joint Powers Board welcomed new member Dave Pine and elected its officers for 2017 at the rail agency’s January meeting.
Pine, who will represent the San Mateo County Transit District on the JPB, was appointed to the Board by the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors.
At its meeting on Thursday evening, the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority appointed Jeannie Bruins to represent VTA. Bruins will officially be sworn in as a member at next month’s JPB meeting on February 2.
Along with swearing in of Pine, the JPB elected its officers for this year.
JPB Member José Cisneros, treasurer for the City and County of San Francisco, was elected as chair this year. Cisneros, who was appointed by The Mayor’s Office, represents the City and County on the JPB. Redwood City Councilman and San Mateo County Transit District representative Jeff Gee, who was appointed by the City Selection Committee, was elected as vice-chair.
The board of directors is the governing body of Caltrain, the commuter rail service that operates in San Francisco, San Mateo and Santa Clara counties. Caltrain is managed by the San Mateo County Transit District, in partnership with the City and County of San Francisco and the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority. The nine-member board of directors is composed of three members from each of the three partner agencies.
