Location, Date and Time of Regular Meetings

Regular meetings are held at the San Mateo County Transit District Administrative Building located at 1250 San Carlos Ave., San Carlos, CA, which is located one block west of the San Carlos Caltrain Station on El Camino Real. The office is also accessible by SamTrans bus routes ECR, FLX, 260, 295 and 398. Additional transit information can be obtained by calling 1.800.660.4287 (TTY 650.508.6448) or 511.

The JPB Citizens Advisory Committee meets regularly on the third Wednesday of the month at 5:40 p.m. at the same location. Date, time and place may change as necessary.

Public Comment

If you wish to address the Committee, please fill out a speaker’s card located on the agenda table and hand it to the Committee Secretary. If you have anything that you wish distributed to the Committee and included for the official record, please hand it to the Committee Secretary, who will distribute the information to the Committee members and staff.

Members of the public may address the Committee on non-agendized items under the Public Comment item on the agenda. Public testimony by each individual speaker shall be limited to three minutes and items raised that require a response will be deferred for staff reply.

In summer 2018, crews began working on tree pruning/removal, utility relocation, and foundation installation. Over the next few months, crews will continue foundation installation and begin the installation of poles along the rail corridor in Sunnyvale. The meeting will provide an opportunity for residents to learn more about the project, including the scope and schedule of upcoming construction activities. Please join us for a community meeting on Tuesday, October 8 at 6:30 p.m. regarding the San Mateo Set-Out Track. This is a future project that will replace the San Mateo storage space or"set-out track" that was removed to facilitate the construction of the 25th Avenue GradeSeparation Project.

Earlier this summer, there was a public meeting about this project. Since that time Caltrain has worked closely with the City of San Mateo to evaluate options at the current proposed set-out track location as well as other locations. The team reviewed 28 different options, including the options suggested by members of the community. Options will be reviewed and feedback gathered at the October 8, 2019 meeting.

Background Information
A "set-out track" is a storage space for train equipment and set-out tracks are distributed throughout the corridor. Typically, anticipated use of a set-out track is 1-2 times a week. A set-out track is much different than a maintenance yard. Caltrain only has one maintenance yard which is a large complex operation and facility that is located in San Jose.
