Giants fans can ride Caltrain straight into the heart of the action when the team brings the first FanFest of the year to San Jose on Saturday, Jan. 17. The free, family-friendly event runs from noon to 3 p.m. at San Pedro Square Market, 87 N. San Pedro St.

Caltrain encourages fans to take the train to avoid traffic and parking hassles and enjoy a convenient trip to downtown San Jose. The San Jose Diridon Station is within walking distance or an easy VTA connection away from the event.

Caltrain reminds customers that open alcoholic beverages are allowed on the trains until 9 p.m. during regular service. Disruptive passengers will be asked to leave Caltrain property.

Paid parking rules are enforced throughout the day, including weekends and holidays. Parking at Caltrain stations costs $5.50 for the day, and permits can be purchased using the ParkMobile app or through ticket machines onsite. ParkMobile allows riders to simply input the station zone number (which can be found through the app and will be posted on station signage and on station pages on the Caltrain website) as well as the number of the parking space. The app requires users to set up an account, which requires an email address, payment method and license plate number.
