‘The Kids from Yesterday’ and rock fans of today are riding Caltrain to see My Chemical Romance this Saturday, July 19, at 6 p.m. at Oracle Park. Caltrain will be running its usual half-hourly weekend schedule, and the last southbound train will depart San Francisco Station at 12:05 a.m.
Whether you tap your Clipper card, use the Clipper app, or pay with Clipper on your phone’s wallet (Apple or Google), it’s the most convenient — and most affordable — way to ride Caltrain. Clipper offers automatic discounts, including:
- Clipper START: 50% off standard fares for eligible riders
- Youth fare: Just $1 one-way or $2 for a Day Pass for riders 18 and under
Caltrain is a proof-of-payment system, which means tickets are not sold onboard. If not using Clipper, you can buy your ticket:
- At station ticket machines
- Through the Caltrain Mobile App (perfect for skipping lines on busy days)
Mobile Day Passes are valid from the time of purchase through the end of that service day. For a smoother experience — especially when heading to events or during peak hours — buy your fare in advance.
Parking at Caltrain stations costs $5.50 for the day, and permits can be purchased using the Caltrain mobile app or through ticket machines onsite. The mobile app can be used immediately after parking, as it requires a space number. Paid parking rules are enforced throughout the day, including weekends and holidays.
Caltrain reminds customers that open alcoholic beverages are prohibited on the trains beginning at 9 p.m. on special event days.
