Caltrain Hosts Themed Car for Wu-Tang Clan Show at Chase Center

On June 24, Caltrain offers one-time limited express to the Slums of Shaolin

The Wu-Tang Clan and Run the Jewels will perform at Chase Center on Tuesday, June 24, and Caltrain (aka X-cessive Conqueror) will be offering a special themed car on northbound train #429, offering onboard entertainment and a chance to win Wu-Tang and Caltrain merch.

The 429, a train making limited stops, is scheduled to depart San Jose Diridon at 6:43 p.m. and arrive in San Francisco by 7:53 p.m. for the 8:00 p.m. concert. The theme car will be the southernmost car on the 429. In addition to the 429, Caltrain’s weekday schedule, supported by the agency’s new electric fleet, offers abundant service to San Francisco Station, a short walk from the venue which is also easily accessible via the Muni T-Third Street line which is free for ticket holders. The last southbound train of the evening departs San Francisco Station at 12:05 a.m.

Whether you tap your Clipper card, use the Clipper app, or pay with Clipper on your phone’s wallet (Apple or Google), it’s the most convenient — and most affordable — way to ride Caltrain. Clipper offers automatic discounts, including:

  • Clipper START: 50% off standard fares for eligible riders

  • Youth fare: Just $1 one-way or $2 for a Day Pass for riders 18 and under, as both Caltrain and Wu-Tang are for the children

Caltrain is a proof-of-payment system, which means tickets are not sold onboard. If not using Clipper, you can buy your ticket:

  • At station ticket machines

  • Through the Caltrain Mobile App (perfect for skipping lines on busy days)

Mobile Day Passes are valid from the time of purchase through the end of that service day. For a smoother experience — especially when heading to events or during peak hours — buy your fare in advance.

Parking at Caltrain stations costs $5.50 for the day, and permits can be purchased using the Caltrain mobile app or through ticket machines onsite. The mobile app can be used immediately after parking, as it requires a space number. Paid parking rules are enforced throughout the day.

Caltrain reminds customers that open alcoholic beverages are prohibited on the trains beginning at 9 p.m. on special event days.
