Caltrain Connects to San Francisco’s Flop Festival

The 3rd Annual Flop Festival, produced by the Church of Clown, runs from Friday, Oct. 3, through Sunday, Oct. 19, with multiple shows Thursday through Sunday, and Caltrain is the best way to get to every show on time. Located at 2400 Bayshore Boulevard, a short walk from Caltrain’s Bayshore Station, this celebration of the breadth and depth of physical theater is a unique event made easily accessible thanks to Caltrain. See the full festival schedule at www.churchofclown.org.

Whether you tap your Clipper card, use the Clipper app, or pay with Clipper on your phone’s wallet (Apple or Google), it’s the most convenient — and most affordable — way to ride Caltrain. Clipper offers automatic discounts, including:

  • Clipper START: 50% off standard fares for eligible riders
  • Youth fare: Just $1 one-way or $2 for a Day Pass for riders 18 and under

Caltrain is a proof-of-payment system, which means tickets are not sold onboard. If not using Clipper, you can buy your ticket:

  • At station ticket machines
  • Through the Caltrain Mobile App (the app will be retired by the end of October)

Mobile Day Passes are valid from the time of purchase through the end of that service day. For a smoother experience — especially when heading to events or during peak hours — buy your fare in advance.

Parking at Caltrain stations costs $5.50 for the day, and permits can be purchased using the Caltrain mobile app or through ticket machines onsite. The mobile app can be used immediately after parking, as it requires a space number. Paid parking rules are enforced throughout the day, including weekends and holidays.

Caltrain reminds customers that open alcoholic beverages are prohibited on the trains beginning at 9 p.m. on special event days.
