Bike to Wherever Days returns Thursday, May 14, through Saturday, May 16, and Caltrain is ready to help Bay Area cyclists get wherever they need to go.

In partnership with the Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition and the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition, and in recognition of National Bike Month, Caltrain is co-sponsoring energizer stations at transit-adjacent locations across the three counties it serves. The energizer stations will be at San Francisco, Millbrae, San Mateo and Mountain View stations. These energizer stations will offer water, fruits, snacks, free giveaways and more to welcome riders.

About 20% of Caltrain customers access the system by bicycle. While Caltrain offers more onboard bike capacity than any other rail system in the country, space on bike cars can fill up quickly. Riders are encouraged to use bike lockers or the free bike valet service on Townsend Street in San Francisco, especially if they do not need a bicycle at both ends of their trip. These options provide secure, easy-to-use facilities and help reduce demand for onboard bike space.

Caltrain has also installed platform markings that show where bike car doors will open. These stencils help guide cyclists to the appropriate boarding areas while improving access for all riders.

Customers can take advantage of the more than 600 BikeLink eLockers available at 25 Caltrain stations, including new lockers designed to accommodate larger bicycles that carry passengers. Standard eLocker rates start at 5 cents per hour, with larger bike lockers available for 8 cents per hour. New users can receive 100 free hours of bicycle parking by downloading the BikeLink app and using it to access a locker at a Caltrain station for the first time. These eLockers are funded by the Bay Area Air Quality Management District and the State of California.

Caltrain is a co-sponsor of Bike to Wherever Days, along with SamTrans and the San Mateo County Transportation Authority.
