As spring training gets ever closer, faithful fans of the Giants are dusting off their jerseys and ball caps to once again cheer on the black and orange. Their first opportunity comes this Saturday, February 11, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the 24th annual KNBR Giants FanFest at AT&T Park.

Caltrain is ready to get fans to the ball park by offering hourly service and four Baby Bullet express trains between the Peninsula and San Francisco on weekends. Caltrain will provide extra train service before and after the event to accommodate the crowds. AT&T Park is just one block away from Caltrain’s San Francisco station, so customers can get to FanFest easily without worrying about parking or traffic.

Fans who purchase Caltrain tickets to the event on Saturday will find a “San Francisco” button on ticket machines at stations. The button is a shortcut for buying a ticket to San Francisco, an advantage for new customers who may not be familiar with the ticket machines. Caltrain is a proof-of-payment system; tickets are not sold on board trains but can be purchased at ticket machines at the stations. To save time on the return trip, fans are encouraged to buy a Day Pass. Clipper card users are reminded to tag on and tag off.

At the ballpark, fans will have the chance to meet Giants players and coaches, get autographs, engage in live Q&A sessions, walk out on the field and play catch, tour the press box and take photos with the team’s three World Series trophies. KNBR will be broadcasting live from this free event for the length of the program. Due to its close proximity to AT&T Park, Caltrain is the preferred transportation mode for Giants fans.

Last year, Caltrain carried more than 500,000 passengers to pre-season and regular season Giants games. Caltrain reminds fans to drink responsibly and to remember that open containers of alcohol are not allowed on trains after 9 p.m. following special events. About Caltrain: Owned and operated by the Peninsula Corridor Joint Powers Board, Caltrain provides commuter rail service from San Francisco to San Jose, with limited commute service to Gilroy. Caltrain has enjoyed five years of consecutive monthly ridership increases, surpassing more than 60,000 average weekday riders. While the Joint Powers Board assumed operating responsibilities for the service in 1992, the railroad celebrated 150 years of continuous passenger service in 2014. Planning for the next 150 years of Peninsula rail service, Caltrain is on pace to electrify the corridor, reduce diesel emissions by 97 percent by 2040 and add more service to more stations.
