Caltrain and SamTrans Offer Fourth of July Service & Observed Holiday Service

 

Caltrain and SamTrans will provide holiday service on Sunday, July 4, for Independence Day.

Caltrain will operate a Sunday schedule in addition to extra post-event southbound service following the Fourth of July fireworks show. Post-event trains will make all local weekend stops from San Francisco to San Jose. Folks planning to attend the festivities in San Francisco can ride Caltrain to the San Francisco Station and connect to Muni for service to and from the waterfront. The last train departs San Francisco station at 11:30 p.m.

SamTrans will operate a regular Sunday schedule on July 4.

Caltrain and SamTrans will operate a Sunday schedule on Monday, July 5, in observance of Independence Day.

Caltrain is a proof-of-payment system; tickets are not sold onboard trains but can be purchased at station ticket machines. Riders that wish to use contactless payment can use either Caltrain mobile app, a Clipper card, which can now be purchased at a Ticket Vending Machine at the San Jose, Sunnyvale, Palo Alto, Redwood City, Millbrae and San Francisco stations, or the Clipper app.

Parking at Caltrain stations costs $5.50 for the day, and permits can be purchased using the Caltrain mobile app or through ticket machines onsite. Paid parking rules are enforced throughout the day.

Caltrain advises that everyone respect public health orders, wear a face covering and maintain social distancing in order to prevent the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19). Caltrain reminds customers that open alcoholic beverages are prohibited on the trains beginning at 9 p.m. on special event days and nights.
