September is Transit Month: Caltrain celebrates the people who keep the Bay Area moving

Caltrain Transit Month Kick off 2026

Caltrain Executive Director Michelle Bouchard joins regional transit leaders to kick off Transit Month in San Francisco on Sept. 1, 2026.

Transit Month has arrived, and Caltrain is joining the celebration with a full month of events throughout the Peninsula.

September is an opportunity to celebrate the people who keep the region moving — from the employees who make Caltrain service possible every day to the riders and communities we serve.

Throughout the month, Caltrain will participate in events across the region to connect with the public, highlight the importance of public transportation and celebrate the people behind the service. From community rallies and special events to educational programs and onboard giveaways, Transit Month offers opportunities to celebrate how transit brings the Bay Area together.

Transit Month is ultimately about celebrating Caltrain — our employees, our riders and the communities we connect. Every employee plays a role in making Caltrain what it is, and September is a chance to share that work with the public and celebrate it together.

Here’s what’s happening throughout Transit Month:

Whether you're a daily rider, a first-time passenger or someone who helps make the service possible, Transit Month is a time to celebrate the connections that keep our region moving.

Join Caltrain throughout September as we celebrate the employees, riders and communities that make public transportation an essential part of the Bay Area.
