Wednesday, Dec. 31 – New Year’s Eve and Fireworks
Caltrain will be operating a regular weekday schedule before the fireworks show begins. In addition to regularly scheduled service, additional southbound trains will depart from San Francisco at 1 a.m., 1:30 a.m. and 2 a.m. making all local stops to San Jose Diridon after the fireworks. SF MUNI will provide additional post-fireworks service connecting with Caltrain San Francisco Station at 4th and King streets.
Thursday, Jan. 1, 2026 – New Year’s Day
Caltrain will operate a weekend schedule. Caltrain will resume collecting fares when service begins around 7 a.m.
More information about Caltrain’s holiday schedules is available online at www.caltrain.com/holidays.
Caltrain reminds customers that open alcoholic beverages are prohibited on the trains beginning at 9 p.m. on special events days and nights. Disruptive passengers will be asked to leave Caltrain property.
Paid parking rules are enforced throughout the day, including weekends and holidays. Parking at Caltrain stations costs $5.50 for the day, and permits can be purchased using the ParkMobile app or through ticket machines onsite. ParkMobile allows riders to simply input the station zone number (which can be found through the app and will be posted on station signage and on station pages on the Caltrain website) as well as the number of the parking space. The app requires users to set up an account, which requires an email address, payment method and license plate number.
There will be no shuttle service on Thursday, Jan. 1, New Year’s Day. Please note that on Friday, January 2nd, only the Daly City Bayshore, Crosstown, Marsh Road, and Willow Road shuttles will operate; all other Commute.org managed shuttles will not be in service.
Administrative offices will be closed on New Year’s Day. The Customer Service Call Center will be available from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 31, and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 1. Customers may call 1-800-660-4287 to speak with a representative.
