Caltrain Releases Year in Review

Caltrain has published a webpage detailing its accomplishments over the course of 2022.

Caltrain has made many accomplishments in 2022. The agency hired Michelle Bouchard as its Executive Director, adopted a new governance model and made great strides in the electrification of the railroad, all while increasing ridership to double last year’s levels.

Caltrain is committed to continuing to improve its services in order to meet the needs of its riders. The New Year will see more milestones met for the electrification project, as well as more immediate improvements to the service.

About Caltrain: Owned and operated by the Peninsula Corridor Joint Powers Board, Caltrain provides rail service from San Francisco to San Jose, with commute service to Gilroy. Serving the region since 1863, Caltrain is the oldest continually operating rail system west of the Mississippi. Looking to the future, Caltrain is set to electrify the corridor by 2024, which will reduce diesel emissions and add more service to more stations while advancing the agency’s equity goals.
