From September 15, 2023, through October 15, 2023, our country commemorates Hispanic Heritage Month, and Caltrain is once again taking the opportunity to celebrate the many contributions of the Hispanic American community. Hispanic Americans have called the San Francisco Peninsula home for hundreds of years and have been instrumental in shaping the history and culture of the region.
We at Caltrain pride ourselves as a system that is welcoming and inclusive to everyone. A survey from 2022 showed that 17% of Caltrain riders are of Hispanic origin.
We are also proud to note that Hispanic Americans contribute to the Caltrain workforce including planning, operations, communications, safety and security and administration. Many Hispanic Americans also work as conductors and maintain our tracks and trains to keep our riders safe.
Our future at Caltrain cannot be made possible without the ingenuity of all Hispanic Americans. We will continue to grow together and make Caltrain and the San Francisco Peninsula a vibrant and multicultural community.
