Complete List of Changes

  • The adjusted timetable maintains the 104 train schedule that Caltrain operates every weekday, the most Caltrain service ever.
  • There will be no changes to midday and weekend schedules. 
  • Evening trains have been adjusted to improve weeknight BART connections at Millbrae. 
  • All weekday trains after 7 p.m. will have longer end to end travel times by an average of 13 minutes. 
  • Limited (L3) will depart San Francisco three to five minutes earlier than the current schedule.
  • Evening Southbound trains will depart San Francisco up to 16 minutes eaårlier than current schedule: 
     
    • 518 will depart at 8:13 p.m.
    • 134 will depart at 8:23 pm.
    • 136 will depart at 8:46 p.m. 
    • 138 will depart at 9:16 p.m.
    • 140 will depart at 9:46 p.m.
    • 142 will depart at 10:16 p.m.
    • 144 will depart at 10:46 p.m.
       
  • Northbound L3 trains will arrive in San Francisco three to five minutes later than the current schedule.
  • Evening northbound trains listed below will depart up to 10 minutes earlier than the current schedule:
     
    • 135: will depart San Jose Diridon at 8:14 p.m.
    • 137: will depart Tamien at 8:38 p.m.
    • 139: will depart San Jose Diridon at 9:14 p.m.
    • 141: will depart Tamien at 9:38 p.m.
    • 143: will depart San Jose Diridon at 10:14 p.m.

Service Change Patterns

BABY BULLET EXPRESS SERVICE 

Baby Bullet service is the fastest travel option, stopping at only a few of the most popular stations between San Francisco and San Jose.

  • The red columns on the schedule indicate Baby Bullet Express Service trains
  • Weekdays – Peak Hours 
  • Service Type B7, Train No. 7XX Series 

LIMITED-STOP SERVICE 

The Limited service simplifies travel options by having trains make the same defined set of stops. The Limited service offers more frequent service at key stations and faster travel times. College Park Station has limited weekday service. 

  • The yellow columns on the schedule indicate Limited-Stop Service trains. 
  • Weekdays – Peak Hours 
    • Service Type L3, Train No. 3XX Series 
    • Service Type L4, Train No. 4XX Series 
  • Weekdays – Early Morning, Midday, Early Evening 
    • Service Type L5, Train No. 5XX Series 

LOCAL SERVICE

Weekdays – Makes all stops between San Francisco and San Jose excluding Broadway, with limited service to College Park Station. Some trains begin/end at Tamien Station. 

Weekends - Makes all stops between San Francisco and San Jose including Broadway Station, excluding College Park Station. Some trains begin/end at Tamien Station.

  • The white/gray columns on the schedule indicate local-stop service trains
  • Weekdays – All Day 
    • Service Type L1, Train No. 1XX Series 
  • Weekend – All Day, Same Saturday & Sunday Service 
    • Service Type: L2, Train No. 2XX Series
