Take Caltrain to the 10th Annual Outside Lands Festival

In the history of San Francisco’s annual events, Outside Lands Festival ranks as one of the greatest to hit the city. Set in historical Golden Gate Park, this festival has seen artists such as Radiohead, Kanye West, Stevie Wonder, Lana Del Rey, Tame Impala, Paul McCartney, Pearl Jam, and more.  Get to the park this weekend, Friday, August 11, through Sunday, August 13, by hopping on Caltrain for a traffic-free ride to the festival and enjoy all it has to offer.

Caltrain has northbound weekend service to the San Francisco station at 4th and King streets. From there, festival-goers can make their way toward Golden Gate Park by hopping onto Muni’s N-Judah line and walking seven minutes towards the park.

This year is the 10th anniversary of the festival.  Get out and revel in music, food, wine, beer, games, art, and comedy knowing this festival is one of the world’s most sustainable large-scale events of its kind. Jam the night away to the sounds of Gorillaz, Lourde, The Who, Metallica, A Tribe Called Quest, Empire of the Sun, and more.

About Caltrain: Owned and operated by the Peninsula Corridor Joint Powers Board, Caltrain provides commuter rail service from San Francisco to San Jose, with limited commute service to Gilroy. Caltrain enjoyed five years of consecutive monthly ridership increases, surpassing more than 65,000 average weekday riders. While the Joint Powers Board assumed operating responsibilities for the service in 1992, the railroad celebrated 150 years of continuous passenger service in 2014. Planning for the next 150 years of Peninsula rail service, Caltrain is on pace to electrify the corridor, reduce diesel emissions by 97 percent by 2040 and add more service to more stations.
