Every Week is Shark Week on Caltrain

Tomorrow, October 4, the San Jose Sharks are at the SAP Center for their Season Home Opener against the Philadelphia Flyers. The puck drops on at 7:30 p.m., and Caltrain is on board to get you there to see it live.

Caltrain’s weekday schedule includes plenty of trains that will arrive in San Jose for the game, and additional post-game service is available. The last train departs San Jose Diridon station at 10:30 p.m. or 15 minutes after the game ends, and leaves no later than 10:45 p.m. The train makes all regular local stops. Trains will stop at the Broadway and Atherton stations on weekends only.

More information about Caltrain’s service for Sharks’ games is available here.

Caltrain is a proof-of-payment system; tickets are not sold onboard trains but can be purchased at vending machines at the stations. To save time on the return trip, fans are encouraged to buy a Day Pass. Clipper card users are reminded to tag on and tag off.

Open alcoholic beverage containers are not allowed onboard trains starting at 9 p.m.

Parking at Caltrain stations costs $5.50 for the day, and permits can be purchased at station ticket machines. Paid parking rules are enforced throughout the day.

About Caltrain: Owned and operated by the Peninsula Corridor Joint Powers Board, Caltrain provides commuter rail service from San Francisco to San Jose, with limited commute service to Gilroy. Caltrain enjoyed more than five years of consecutive monthly ridership increases, surpassing more than 65,000 average weekday riders. While the Joint Powers Board assumed operating responsibilities for the service in 1992, the railroad celebrated 150 years of continuous passenger service in 2014. Planning for the next 150 years of Peninsula rail service, Caltrain is on pace to electrify the system, reduce diesel emissions by 97 percent by 2040 and add more service to more stations.
