Caltrain and SamTrans to Adjust Schedule for Thanksgiving Holiday

Caltrain will operate alternative schedules for the Thanksgiving holiday on Thursday, November 28, and the day after Thanksgiving on Friday, November 29. SamTrans will operate its regular Sunday schedule on Thanksgiving Day and regular weekday non-school day service the day before and after Thanksgiving, giving consumers more travel options for the busiest shopping day of the year.

Day Before Thanksgiving, Wednesday, November 27

SamTrans will operate its regular weekday non-school day service schedule. Caltrain will operate its regular weekday schedule.

Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 28

Caltrain will operate a Sunday schedule for the holiday between the San Francisco and San Jose Diridon stations, with shuttle service to and from the Tamien station. Train service will not operate south of San Jose Diridon. The schedule will include two northbound and southbound Baby Bullet trains. About Caltrain: Owned and operated by the Peninsula Corridor Joint Powers Board, Caltrain provides commuter rail service from San Francisco to San Jose, with limited commute service to Gilroy. Caltrain enjoyed more than five years of consecutive monthly ridership increases, surpassing more than 65,000 average weekday riders. While the Joint Powers Board assumed operating responsibilities for the service in 1992, the railroad celebrated 150 years of continuous passenger service in 2014. Planning for the next 150 years of Peninsula rail service, Caltrain is on pace to electrify the system, reduce diesel emissions by 97 percent by 2040 and add more service to more stations.
