Set-Out Track Community Meeting

    Details
    Location
San Mateo City Hall 330 W 20th AveSan Mateo, CA

Please join us for a community meeting on Tuesday, October 8 at 6:30 p.m. regarding the San Mateo Set-Out Track. This is a future project that will replace the San Mateo storage space or"set-out track" that was removed to facilitate the construction of the 25th Avenue GradeSeparation Project.

Earlier this summer, there was a public meeting about this project. Since that time Caltrain has worked closely with the City of San Mateo to evaluate options at the current proposed set-out track location as well as other locations. The team reviewed 28 different options, including the options suggested by members of the community. Options will be reviewed and feedback gathered at the October 8, 2019 meeting.

    Background Information
A "set-out track" is a storage space for train equipment and set-out tracks are distributed throughout the corridor. Typically, anticipated use of a set-out track is 1-2 times a week. A set-out track is much different than a maintenance yard. Caltrain only has one maintenance yard which is a large complex operation and facility that is located in San Jose.
