PG&E Pipeline Relocation Work
PG&E is relocating a natural gas pipeline for the 25th Avenue Grade Separation Project. The project will improve safety and reduce local traffic congestion. On Monday, June 18 to Wednesday, June 20, S. Delaware will be closed between 25th Avenue and Derby (the intersection at 28th Avenue will be closed). And then on Thursday, June 21 and Friday, June 22, S. Delaware will be closed between 25th Avenue and Landing (the intersection at Derby will be closed and 28th Avenue and Landing will be open).

To view a map click here (see pages 1 and 2).

Vehicles: Through traffic will be routed to Saratoga.
Pedestrians: The western sidewalk on Delaware between 25th and Derby will be open and can be accessed from 28th or 25th Avenues.
County Fair Pedestrian Access: During construction hours please follow signage from the Caltrain Station. A County Fair pedestrian access map can also be viewed at www.caltrain.com/25thgs/PGE.

PG&E will clearly mark all work areas, and traffic flaggers will help to direct traffic. Please plan for minor delays and detours when driving through this area. Businesses on S. Delaware will be open as usual. For Nueva School access, please see the map at www.caltrain.com/25thgs/PGE. If you have any questions please contact your local PG&E representative Scott Hart at 650-598-7416 or send an email to gasprojectinfo@pge.com.

Grade Separation Night/Weekend Work

Grade Separation Weekday Work
On Monday, June 18 to Friday, June 22, there will be partial lane closures on E. 25th Avenue between El Camino Real and S. Delaware. Street parking may be limited and flaggers may be assisting with traffic coordination at the railroad crossing. All businesses along E. 25th Avenue will remain open during construction. Caltrain will establish signs for pedestrians and motorists to help with traffic flow.

In addition to the PG&E pipeline relocation work (described above), on Monday, June 18 to Wednesday, June 20, crews will work on the abutments and underdrain at the Pedestrian Underpass. For the week of Monday, June 18 to Friday, June 22, crews will also work on the abutments at 25th Avenue and conduct pile testing at 28th Avenue.

Also, starting on Monday, June 18 from 7:30 a.m. to Monday, July 9, 5:30 p.m., parking spaces #60 to #72 located in the temporary parking lot on the eastside of the Hillsdale Caltrain Station will be unavailable. To view how to access the temporary lot during this phase of construction visit www.caltrain.com/25thgs (scroll down to “Project Resources”).

We apologize for any inconvenience while this important safety improvement project is being constructed.

Caltrain, in cooperation with the City of San Mateo, will raise the tracks and slightly lower the road (grade separate) at E. 25th Avenue in San Mateo. This will improve safety for both motorists and pedestrians, and it will reduce local traffic congestion in San Mateo. In addition, the project will create new east-west street connections at 28th and 31st Avenues; and as part of the project improvements, Caltrain will build a new elevated Hillsdale Station with updated amenities at E. 28th Avenue.

Construction is expected to be complete in early 2020. In order to maintain regular train service, some activities will be conducted during nights and weekends, outside of normal train service hours. Neighbors may experience construction noise and light during these times. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
