Caltrain is the Ticket to the Mountain View Art and Wine Festival

If you’re looking to enjoy a glass of wine in downtown Mountain View this weekend, Caltrain is your best way to get there. The Mountain View Art and Wine Festival takes place on Saturday, September 11, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., in the Caltrain Parking Lot, making Caltrain the obvious choice for transportation to and from the event.

Caltrain’s recently updated weekend schedule provides hourly train service from both north and southbound trains throughout the run of the event. Additionally, all fares are 50% off for the month of September.

Caltrain is a proof-of-payment system. Tickets aren’t sold onboard trains but can be purchased at station ticket machines. In order to avoid the long lines that often accompany major events, passengers are encouraged to buy a Day Pass or use the Caltrain Mobile ticketing app.

Parking at Caltrain stations costs $5.50 for the day, and permits can be purchased using the Caltrain mobile app or through ticket machines onsite. Paid parking rules are enforced throughout the day.

About Caltrain: Owned and operated by the Peninsula Corridor Joint Powers Board, Caltrain provides commuter rail service from San Francisco to San Jose, with commute service to Gilroy. While the Joint Powers Board assumed operating responsibilities for the service in 1992, the railroad celebrated 150 years of continuous passenger service in 2014. Planning for the next 150 years of Peninsula rail service, Caltrain is on pace to electrify the corridor, reduce diesel emissions by 97 percent by 2040 and add more service to more stations.
