San Mateo County Transit District Launches Podcast
The San Mateo County Transit District has debuted Wheel Talk, the official podcast of the agency. With a monthly release schedule, the podcast will address policy issues affecting SamTrans, Caltrain and the San Mateo County Transportation Authority.
Hosted by Public Affairs Specialists Alex Eisenhart and Dan Lieberman, Wheel Talk will provide an in-depth look into the inner workings of the three agencies, offering a greater degree of insight into the operations and developments of the District than was otherwise easily accessible.
“Communicating with our customers and the general public about efforts to improve transportation in our region has always been a top priority for the District,” said the Transit District’s Chief Communications Officer, Seamus Murphy. “Major transportation and transit improvements are underway on the Peninsula, and we hope Wheel Talk provides an informative, engaging channel to learn about the work we do to keep our community moving.”
In recognition of Rail Safety Month, the first episode features Caltrain’s Deputy Director of Infrastructure Rob Scarpino and California Operation Lifesaver’s Executive Director Nancy Sheehan. The discussion focuses on safety improvements to Caltrain’s right-of-way and the public information effort around rail safety.

The next episode, which will focus on the benefits of San Mateo County’s Measure W, will be released in October.
