Street Improvements Around San Francisco Station
Sept. 5, 2017 until spring 2020
Construction is currently underway on the SFMTA Townsend Corridor Improvement Project and will continue through the end of the year. A new sidewalk, transit bulb and curb loading zones are being constructed to improve the flow of people and vehicles on Townsend between 3rd and 5th streets.
During construction, wayfaring signs inside and outside the station will be posted to direct Caltrain customers around the work and to buses and taxis. The Bicycle Shop will remain accessible and open during this time.
Please allow yourself extra time to meet your train. Muni buses will stop at Townsend/4th Street. Taxis will pick up and drop off passengers on King Street.

22nd Street Station Limited Access for Six Car Trains
Due to construction work, there will be limited access for six car trains. The doors for the first car behind the locomotive will be unable to open at this station. Customers riding in that car will need to walk through to the next car to exit the train at 22nd Street.
South San Francisco Station Parking Impacts
Jan. 8, 2018 until TBD
Starting January 8, 2018, parking spaces #13 to 23 will be blocked off to set up the staging area for the South San Francisco Improvement Project.
Due to this work, parking will be limited at the South San Francisco Station. There will be 29 parking spaces available plus two ADA spaces. Customers are advised to adjust their commute accordingly.
Hayward Park Parking Impacts
Sept. 5, 2017 until Jan. 2020
On Tuesday, Sept. 5, parking spaces #70 thru 155 will be blocked off to accomodate construction trailers and equipment for the upcoming 25th Avenue Grade Separation Project.
No parking will be allowed in the listed parking spaces starting Sept. 5 at 2 a.m.
The designated parking area will be closed to traffic through Jan. 2020.
Hillsdale Station Parking Stall Closure
Jan. 31 until late 2019
Due to Caltrain electrification work, parking spaces #322-343 and #412-421 in the southern portion of the Hillsdale Station parking will be permanently closed. Parking spaces #344-357 and #390-411, also located in the southern portion of the Hillsdale Station parking lot will be temporarily closed until late 2019. Caltrain has additional parking near Hillsdale Station that can be accessed via Pacific Blvd.
The two stairways connected to the parking lot will also be closed permanently for the safety and security of Caltrain customers. Pedestrians will be able to access the station via the stairs to Pacific Blvd. More info
Hillsdale Station 28th Ave. Parking Lot Affected by Work
Until Dec. 31, 2019
From now until December 31, 2019, parking spaces #1 - 18 and #102 - 144 located on the eastside of the Hillsdale Caltrain station will be temporarily used for a staging area for the 25th Avenue Grade Separation project.
Please allow yourself extra time to park and meet your train. Parking may be limited.
Redwood City Transit Center Temporary Parking Changes
May 1, 2019 to Dec. 31, 2020
May 1, 2019 to December 31, 2020, San Mateo County will temporarily relocate jury/county parkinng to the Redwood City Transit Center/Caltrain underground garage while its new parking garage and office building near the County Center is under construction.
Designated jury/county parking will be between the hours of 5 am Monday and 8pm Friday.
During the week, a limited number of parking spots are still available to Caltrain commuters in the underground garage. Parking is also available in the Caltrain lot located on Perry Street a block from the station.
The underground lot at the Redwood City Transit Center is intended to supplement Caltrain's nearby surface lots for commuters.
If you park in the Perry Street lot, please allow yourself extra time to park and meet your train.

Sunnyvale Station Parking Impacts
April 8 until spring 2020
Beginning April 8, Caltrain electrification crews will permanently close parking spaces #421-436, #452-455, and #458-463 in the northern portion of the Sunnyvale Station parking lot in order to construct a paralleling station which will help regulate power to the new electric trains.
Parking spaces #437-441, #456-457, and #464-472, also located in the northern portion of the Sunnyvale Station parking lot, will be temporarily fenced off in order for crews to install a staging area to support this construction. The temporary parking closures will last from April 8 until spring 2020.
The stairway and northern sidewalk ramp connected to the parking lot will remain open during parking lot construction for the benefit of Caltrain customers. Four (4) ADA parking stalls will be temporarily re-located to the north end of the parking lot adjacent to the northern sidewalk ramp. Pedestrians will be able to access the station platform via the stairs and sidewalk ramp. The Caltrain parking structure will remain open during this time. Once construction is complete, the east and west segments of the parking lot will be reconnected.
Lawrence Station Wheelchair/ADA Access Unavailable
Oct. 8, 2018 until TBD
Due to construction, starting Monday, Oct 8, 2018 passengers traveling northbound getting off at Lawrence station during off peak times may need to move to the northernmost car. Conductor will be making announcements when required to do so.
Caltrain will not be able to accommodate ADA passengers at Lawrence station and they will need to alight at Sunnyvale station. Alternate accommodations will be arranged.
Santa Clara Station & Parking Lot Affected by Work
Feb. 4 to Aug. 1, 2019
Monday, Feb. 4, 2019, through August 1, 2019, 26 parking spaces #256 - 269 and #277 - 290 located at the Santa Clara Caltrain station will be temporarily used for the Caltrain Electrification project.
Parking may be limited so please allow yourself extra time to park at Santa Clara and meet your train.
Crews will also be installing foundation piles at this station, Diridon and Tamien stations. This may affect your path of travel to the platforms.

Santa Clara Station - Disembarking from six car trains

SIX CAR TRAINS: Customers sitting in the car next to the locomotive will need to make their way to the northern end of the car to disembark at Santa Clara due to a platform obstruction. The southernmost door on the Bombardier car will not be accessible. A crew member will be in the car to ensure passengers are able to disembark. For more info: www.caltrain.com/SixCarTrains
