Caltrain Construction and Maintenance: May 10 - 16, 2008
Burlingame
On Thursday, May 15 and Friday, May 16, two streets near the Burlingame station will be closed for paving. Bayswater Avenue will be closed from 8 a.m. Thursday until 4:30 a.m. Friday. Howard Avenue will be closed from 8 a.m. Friday until 8 a.m. Saturday. This work is part of the Burlingame station project.
San Mateo
From Monday, May 12 to Friday, May 16, crews will install fencing during the day along the right of way near the Hayward Park station. This is part of a multi-year project begun last year to fence one side of the entire Caltrain right of way between San Francisco and San Jose
Palo Alto
On Saturday, May 10, crews will work from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. on the concrete ramp for the new pedestrian tunnel at the California Avenue station. This work is part of the Palo Alto stations project.
Maintenance
Train tracks need frequent maintenance to remain in good order. Caltrain will perform routine maintenance at several locations next week. To avoid train delays, the work will take place Sunday through Thursday from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. There will be some construction noise from equipment used to accomplish the work, but crews will work as quietly as possible. San Francisco
A crew will weld and grind the switches on the tracks between Cesar Chavez Street and the Bayshore station.
Burlingame, San Mateo
A crew will replace cross ties on the tracks between the Burlingame and San Mateo stations.
Sunnyvale
A crew will add ballast and resurface the tracks from the Sunnyvale station to the southern end of the Lawrence station.
