Weekend Street Closures near Burlingame Station
Caltrain will alternately close three streets near the Burlingame station to work on the tracks this weekend. Beginning Friday night and continuing until Saturday evening, North Lane, Howard and Brewster avenues will be closed at various times to allow construction crews to replace worn rails, ties and ballast.
The work will proceed from north to south, with the following schedule:
| North Lane |
Friday, April 11 |
11 p.m. to 8 a.m. |
| Howard Avenue |
Saturday, April 12 |
8 a.m. to 2 p.m. |
| Bayswater Avenue |
Saturday, April 12 |
2 p.m. to 8 p.m. |
If the crews complete work ahead of schedule at one location, they will proceed to the next site. During these closures, drivers, cyclists and pedestrians will have to detour around the construction by using an adjacent open street.
Impact to Train Service
The southbound track also will be closed during this time; all trains will operate in both directions on the northbound track. As a result, passengers waiting for both northbound and southbound trains at the Burlingame and San Mateo stations will board from the northbound platform. Ambassadors at stations will help direct passengers to the correct platform.
