Caltrain Takes You to “Cinco De Mayo” celebrations
Hop on Caltrain to get you to the Cinco de Mayo
celebrations in San Francisco and San Jose, during
the weekend of May 5 - 6. On Saturdays and Sundays,
Caltrain offers hourly service, making all local
weekend stops between the San Jose Diridon station
and the San Francisco station at Fourth and King streets.
In San Francisco, celebrations will take place on
Saturday, May 5, at Dolores Park at 18th and Dolores
streets, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and also at the
Parque de los Niños at 23rd and Folsom streets,
from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The festivals will feature
Mexican and Latin music and dance, traditional
foods and arts and crafts.
In San Jose, the celebration will take place on
Sunday, May 6, at the Discovery Meadow at San Carlos
St. and Woz Way, near downtown, from 10 a.m. to
6 p.m. The event will kick off with a parade
from 10 a.m. to noon. The parade, sponsored by the
American GI Forum of San Jose
, will feature floats, colorful costumes, marching
bands, drill teams, and assortment of decorated entries.
The festival will include entertainment, food, booths,
arts & crafts, and children’s stage. For more information
