Caltrain Board To Hold Public Hearing On Fare Increase

The Peninsula Corridor Joint Powers Board will hold a public hearing on Friday, June 30 at 1 p.m., to take public comment on a proposed fare and parking fee increase, which would go into effect later this year.

There are two proposals to consider. The first is a fare increase of 25 cents per zone traveled. The second is a fare increase of 25 cents on the base fare of each ticket, plus an additional 25 cents per zone traveled. Fare increases to multi-ride tickets and passes would be adjusted accordingly. A proposed increase in parking fees is also included, which would raise rates from $1.50 per day to $2.00 per day, and increase monthly parking passes from $15 per month to $20 per month.

All members of the public are welcome to attend and voice their support or opposition to this proposal. The meeting will take place at 1250 San Carlos Ave., in San Carlos, in the second floor auditorium.

Written or telephone comments will be accepted through June 29, and can be submitted in the following ways:

By phone to 1.800.660.4287 (TTY 650.508.6448)
By e-mail to changes@caltrain.com

By U.S. mail to:

Caltrain Board Secretary
1250 San Carlos Ave.
