Palo Alto BikeStation to Close Temporarily

The Palo Alto Bikestation will temporarily close while the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority completes its renovation of the Palo Alto Transit Center. The Bikestation closure will take effect Oct. 27 with plans to reopen at the end of construction, anticipated to be seven months.

VTA's Transit Center renovation will include replacing the roof, seismic upgrades and restoration of historically significant architectural features of the station building, improvements to the station's restrooms and bringing the station in line with current Americans with Disabilities Act standards.

In November, Caltrain will add 50 bicycle lockers at the Palo Alto station to augment the available storage facilities for bicyclists impacted by the closure. For information about bicycle lockers, riders should contact Jon Brown at 408.271.3550 or jjbrown@amtrak.com or fill out the online application (PDF, 64.6 KB) and mail it in.
