Caltrain Riders Share Reasons to Ride
Beginning the week of Jan. 13, eleven Caltrain riders will be featured in the rail
agency's new advertisement campaign "Real People. Real Reasons to Ride."
The ads will feature a photo of a Caltrain passenger with his or her personal "reason
to ride." The campaign includes passengers who range from teens to seniors and live
between San Francisco and Salinas.
The ads will appear in newspapers and on the sides of district transit vehicles
throughout San Francisco, San Mateo and Santa Clara counties.
Featured riders responded to a "Caltrain casting call" and shared their stories about
why they ride Caltrain. "Making productive use of commute time, avoiding traffic and
parking hassles, and relaxing and reducing stress," are some of the most popular
reasons passengers ride Caltrain.
"People love commuting on the train and they enjoy sharing their stories," said
Marketing Manager Patrick Boland. "We're hoping this ad campaign will inspire others
to enjoy the benefits of using Caltrain for their commute."
