Caltrain Will Roll Out an Extra Train for Stones Concert
Rock and roll fans can get some satisfaction knowing that Caltrain is offering
extra capacity for the Rolling Stones concert Feb. 4 at the HP Pavilion at San Jose.
Concert-goers can choose among several regular southbound trains to get to the San
Jose Diridon Caltrain Station, located across the street from the pavilion, in time
for the 8 p.m. show.
To accommodate crowds after the concert, northbound Train 99, which usually departs
at 10:30 p.m., will instead depart at 11 p.m. More cars will be added to the train
and it will make all regular local stops about a half hour later than usual arriving
at the San Francisco terminal about 12:30 a.m.
Due to the anticipated large crowds, Caltrain will run one extra northbound train,
which will depart approximately 20 minutes after the concert ends. The train will
make local stops up the Peninsula and into San Francisco.
Passengers can save $3 by purchasing tickets before boarding the trains. Tickets can
be bought from vending machines located at each station.
For fares and schedule information, call the Caltrain Customer Service Center at
