Rain Delays Planned Caltrain Lawrence Station Move

The move of Caltrain's Lawrence Station in Sunnyvale will not occur on Monday, April 28, as planned because of rain-related construction delays.

The station will be temporarily moving approximately 250 feet south to facilitate construction in the Lawrence station area, as part of Caltrain's South CTX project.

However, because of this week's heavy rain and the forecast for more rain this weekend, asphalt for the relocated parking lot cannot be placed in time for the scheduled move.

Ticket vending machines and bike lockers need to be relocated to the new parking lot before station operations can shift.

Updated information about the construction plans will be provided when it is available.

The temporary relocation of the station is necessary because of the CTX construction project, which includes adding two tracks through the station area, and reconstructing the Lawrence station, making it more accessible to passengers with disabilities. The work at Lawrence is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
