A Message from Caltrain About Fare Changes

Dear Caltrain Patrons,

On Sept. 22, Caltrain will make the transition to a full Proof-of-Payment system and will change its zone structure and many of its fare types.

As a result, some passengers may be concerned about whether tickets purchased before Sept. 22 will still be valid following the change.

September Monthly Tickets will be honored for the remainder of the month, even if the rider's zones change on Sept. 22.

All 10-ride, One-way and Round-trip tickets purchased before the change goes into effect also will be honored for their full validity period (60 days for 10-rides and 30 days for one-ways and round-trips).

Conductors will routinely check and validate these tickets during the transition period and these passengers will not be penalized.
