Caltrain and SamTrans are Off to the Fair
Fair-goers are encouraged to use Caltrain or SamTrans for convenient and
cost-effective public transportation to the San Mateo County Fair, Aug. 8 through Aug.
17.
While at the fair, visitors should plan to stop by the SamTrans and Caltrain
information booth, located at the Family Fun Zone in Fiesta Hall. Transit district
staff will be available to answer questions about Caltrain and SamTrans service, as
well as the new BART connections in northern San Mateo County.
Three SamTrans routes provide service to the fair. Route 292 provides service from
San Francisco and within the county and ends at the Hillsdale Mall, with a stop in
front of the fairgrounds. Routes 390 and 391 offer service along El Camino Real, with
a stop at 25th Avenue, two blocks west of the fairgrounds. Weekend and evening
service may not be offered on all bus routes.
During the week, Caltrain stops at the Hillsdale station, adjacent to the fairgrounds,
and at the Bay Meadows station.
Caltrain's alternate RRX bus service, which supplements local bus service on the
weekends, runs between San Francisco and San Jose, with stops at the Millbrae,
Hillsdale and Palo Alto Caltrain stations.
For schedule information, please call 1-800-660-4287 (TDD only 650-508-6448), or
