Caltrain May See Larger Crowds for S.F. Concert and Ball Game
Caltrain riders headed into San Francisco on Friday afternoon, Aug. 8, may see
more crowded trains. The rail agency, which always operates extra pre- and
post-game weekday service will serve both events.
Bjork, a musician from Iceland, is performing a sold-out concert at Piers 30/32 at
7 p.m., the same night the San Francisco Giants are playing the Philadelphia Phillies
at Pacific Bell Park.
San Francisco-bound passengers should make an extra effort to take one of Caltrain's
special service trains, which depart San Jose at 4:55 p.m. and 5:15 p.m. for evening
ball games. These trains tend to have more seats available than regular trains
during the evening commute.
After the concert, Bjork fans can use Caltrain's regular service. The last train
departs the Caltrain station on Fourth and King streets at 12:07 a.m. Special
post-game service departs beginning 15 minutes after the last out or when full.
All riders should purchase their round-trip tickets before boarding the train.
A complete schedule of train service to Pacific Bell Park is available onboard, at
staffed stations, at www.caltrain.com or by calling 1.800.660.4287 (TDD only
650.508.6448)
