Caltrain to the SF Pride Parade and Celebration
Take Caltrain to the 32nd annual San Francisco Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender
Pride parade and celebration on Sunday, June 30, and enjoy a comfortable trip into
the city for a day of "only in San Francisco" fun. The festivities are expected to
draw over a million people, so leave your car at home!
The parade will begin at Market and Beale streets at 10:30 a.m. and will proceed
west on Market Street to Eighth Street, where parade attendees may enter the
celebration site at Civic Center. Within the Civic Center area, you'll find ten
stages of entertainment and hundreds of booths, including a Caltrain booth - so stop
by and pick up some free Caltrain goodies while you're there!
Getting to the parade
- Take Caltrain to the San Francisco Caltrain Station at Fourth and King streets
- Walk north to Market Street, between Beale and Eighth streets (about 1.5 miles from the station), or
- Board the Muni N-Judah light rail line (across King Street from the Caltrain station) and ride to the Embarcadero at Market Street, a few short blocks from the parade starting area. (For fare information, contact Muni at (415) 6SF-MUNI.)
Extra Trains
In addition to regular Sunday service, Caltrain will be adding one extra train into
and out of San Francisco to accommodate parade attendees. A detailed schedule
of service to the parade is provided below.
The northbound extra train will depart San Jose Diridon at 8:15 a.m., arriving in San
Francisco before 10 a.m., in time for the parade. The southbound extra train will
depart San Francisco at 9 p.m., reaching its last southbound stop at Diridon at
10:36 p.m. Both extra trains will run added cars to accommodate additional
passengers.
The last train out of San Francisco will depart at 10 p.m.
Tickets
Purchase your round-trip tickets in advance from ticket vending machines (available
at all stations) or from agents at the San Jose or San Francisco stations (ticket
offices at these stations have limited weekend hours). Save money by purchasing a
Weekend Pass, which is good for unlimited rides all weekend for only $9. The Weekend
Pass is available for purchase from ticket vending machines and agents, beginning on
Saturday morning.
Tickets are also available on-board, but an additional $1 charge applies.
