Caltrain Offers Free Rides, Extended New Year's Service

New Year's Eve revelers will be able to ride Caltrain for free after 11 p.m. on Dec. 31.

New Year's Eve train service includes three extra northbound trains which will run approximately 10 minutes in advance of Trains 81, 83 and a later one before Train 97.

After the festivities, the regularly scheduled local train 98 departs San Francisco at 11:59 p.m. Special service trains will leave after midnight when full, and will make all local stops. The last special New Year's Eve train will depart San Francisco at 1:15 a.m.

On New Year's Day, Caltrain will run on a holiday schedule, operating 20 trains between San Francisco and San Jose.
