Caltrain Express Buses Offer Fast Service to Pac Bell Park
Caltrain's express baseball bus service is a convenient way for Giants fans to get
to weekend home games.
Baseball buses leave from 15 Caltrain stations along the Peninsula. Each bus will
leave directly from the station and express to the park.
The buses, which include charter coaches and VTA transit buses, will arrive at the
ballpark approximately 45 minutes before the game starts. Buses will depart from
Fifth and Berry streets up to 30 minutes after the final out. For schedule details,
call 1.800.660.4287 (or TDD only 650.508.6448).
Caltrain has discontinued weekend train service while it performs construction work.
Until work is complete, Caltrain is offering express baseball service for all weekend
home Giants games, along with regular weekend supplemental service, known as the RRX.
The CTX project, the largest rail improvement in Caltrain's history, is modernizing
Caltrain for the 21st century. The project will result in a centralized traffic
control system, known as CTC, passing tracks in three locations along the rail line
and track rehabilitation. CTC eliminates the need to manually operate track switches,
a key to decreasing travel time. When the improvements are completed in the spring
of 2004, Caltrain will be able to offer safer, more flexible service, including Baby
Bullet express service between San Francisco and San Jose.
