Ride Caltrain to California Clasico!
Ride Caltrain to California Clasico!
Earthquake fans have breathless memories of last year’s Earthquakes-L.A. Galaxy game where the Quakes rallied for a 4-3 win in front of 50,391 fans. Now everyone is ready for the next California Clasico at Stanford Stadium June 29. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. Post-game fireworks will begin at 9:45 p.m. and end by 10:00 p.m.
Caltrain will serve its Stanford Stadium station, which is just a short walk from Stanford University, for the hottest ticket in town. The following trains will serve the station on game day:
Northbound: Trains 441, 443, 445, 449 & 451
Southbound: Trains 438, 440, 442, 446 & 448
The Stanford Stadium station doesn’t have a Clipper card reader or ticket machines. Caltrain recommends that fans buy Day Pass before boarding the train or disembark at the Palo Alto station, located about .5 miles to the north.
Caltrain reminds fans to drink responsibly and to remember that alcohol is not allowed on game-day trains beginning at 9 p.m.

About Caltrain: Owned and operated by the Peninsula Corridor Joint Powers Board, Caltrain provides commuter rail service from San Francisco to San Jose, with limited commute service to Gilroy. Caltrain has enjoyed 28 consecutive months of ridership increases, surpassing more than 50,000 average weekday riders earlier this year. While the Joint Powers Board assumed operating responsibilities for the service in 1992, the railroad will celebrate 150 years of continuous passenger service in 2014. Planning for the next 150 years of Peninsula rail service, Caltrain is on pace to electrify the corridor by 2019, reducing diesel emissions by 90 percent and adding more service to more stations.
