Hit a Home Run – Take Caltrain to World Baseball Classic March 17 - 19
The finals of the World Baseball Classic will begin at AT&T Park Sunday, March 17 and conclude with the championship game Tuesday, March 19. The series features many of the world's best baseball players, with The Netherlands and Japan being two of the final four teams. The remaining two teams to qualify for the final rounds will emerge from the four still in contention -- United States, Italy, Puerto Rico and Dominican Republic.
Bay Area baseball fans know that Caltrain is the way to the game – whether it’s the home team San Francisco Giants or a global series featuring visiting teams from around the world.
Caltrain will operate two special trains after all three games. An express train to San Carlos will leave approximately 15 minutes after the last out, or when full, and make all locals stops from San Carlos to the San Jose Diridon station. The second train will depart San Francisco 25 minutes after the game, or when full, and serves all local stops to San Jose Diridon.
On Sunday, the last regularly scheduled train leaves San Francisco at 9:15 p.m.
Caltrain reminds fans to drink responsibly and to remember that alcohol is not allowed on game-day trains beginning at 9 p.m.
Caltrain is a proof-of-payment system; tickets are not sold on board trains but can be purchased at vending machines at the stations. To save time on the return trip, fans are encouraged to buy a Day Pass. Clipper card users (e-cash and 8-ride tickets) are reminded to tag on and tag off.
