Take Transit to Do-It-Yourself Faire May 21 & 22

Creative, resourceful people can take transit to the Maker Faire at the San Mateo County Event Center Saturday and Sunday, May 21 & 22.

The two-day, family-friendly event showcases individual creativity and grassroots innovation in the largest festival devoted to DIY culture and technology in the country. Food and live entertainment will be presented along with demonstrations in everything from 3-D photography to embroidery.

Caltrain offers hourly service on Saturdays and Sundays, making all local weekend stops between San Jose and San Francisco. A free shuttle to the event will operate continuously beginning 30 minutes before the event until 30 minutes after the event ends from the Hayward Park Caltrain Station. Or, faire-goers can walk to the Expo Center from the Hillsdale Caltrain Station.

SamTrans Routes 390 and 391 stop at El Camino Real and 25th Avenue, two blocks from the entrance to the Event Center. SamTrans Route 292 serves stops at the west entrance to the center.
