Sharks Playoff Notes
Caltrain will operate service to every Sharks playoff game including Sunday night games. Caltrain will operate a special local train following the Sharks game. The train will depart San Jose Diridon 15 minutes after the game and make all regular weekend stops to San Francisco.
Ticket Tips- Save money - buy a 8-ride! You'll save about 15% off each ride and it can be shared with other riders if you're traveling as a group. Just be sure to validate one ride for each passenger before boarding.
- Buy a Day Pass. It's the same price as two one-ways, but you won't have to worry about post-game lines.
- Already have a Caltrain pass, but it doesn't include Zone 4? Buy a zone upgrade. They're only $1.75 per zone ($1.00 for Eligible Discount). Zone upgrades must be used with another valid Caltrain ticket.
Passengers must buy tickets BEFORE boarding from ticket vending machines, station agents or by mail. Validate 8-ride tickets and complimentary passes before boarding. Keep your ticket ready to display while on the train. Passengers without valid tickets are subject to citation.
Ticket Information
- One-way ticket: Valid for travel to zone indicated on ticket for four hours from time of purchase.
- Day Pass: Valid for unlimited travel between zones indicated through end of service day on date purchased.
- 8-ride Ticket: Valid for 60 days from date of purchase within zones indicated. Must be validated prior to boarding. Ticket expires four hours after validation. Trip must be completed by end of validation period.
- Eligible Discount: Seniors/Disabled/Youth/Medicare Cardholder
The last weekday and Saturday northbound train departs San Jose Diridon station at 10:30 p.m. or 15 minutes after the game ends, whichever is later. The train makes all regular local stops. Trains will stop at the Broadway and Atherton stations on weekends only.
Caltrain reminds fans to drink responsibly and to remember that alcohol is not allowed on game-day trains beginning at 9 p.m.
Caltrain is a proof-of-payment system; tickets are not sold on board trains but can be purchased at vending machines at the stations or at the San Francisco or San Jose ticket offices. To save time on the return trip, fans are encouraged to buy a Day Pass.
