SamTrans and Caltrain Announce Plans for BART Strike
SamTrans and Caltrain Announce Plans for BART Strike
In the event of a BART strike at midnight Sunday, Aug. 16, SamTrans will route its buses out of BART stations and run a commute-hour shuttle to a temporary transit center where passengers can connect with Muni. Caltrain will operate its regular service.
Commuters are encouraged, whenever possible, to use alternatives such as carpools, flexible work hours or telecommuting to decrease congestion on the roadways. Passengers taking to the road or a new form of transit should allow extra time, as buses and roads will be very crowded.
Bus Rerouting by BART Station
Daly City: A temporary bus stop will be located on DeLong Street, adjacent to the BART station, for Routes 110, 120, 121, 130 and 390.
Colma: A temporary bus stop will be located in the Colma Park and Ride lot behind the station for Routes 112, 120, 121, 122, 123, 130 and CX. Route 391 will remain on El Camino Real.
Daly City/Colma Shuttle: A free shuttle will connect the Daly City and Colma bus stops to a temporary transfer point on Mission Street. The shuttle will operate from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. and from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Passengers will be able to transfer to and from San Francisco Muni 14 at Mission and Crocker streets (northbound) and Mission and Goethe streets (southbound).
South San Francisco: Routes 122, 130 and 133 will serve a temporary bus stop at Old Mission Road and Evergreen Drive. Route 132 will serve a temporary bus stop on Evergreen Drive at Old Mission Road.
San Bruno: All buses will serve existing stops on Sneath Lane and Huntington Avenue.
Millbrae: Routes 390, 391 and 397 will remain on El Camino Real and not divert into the Millbrae Transit Center. Route KX will serve a temporary stop on the west side of the station on California Drive to provide customers with a connection to the San Francisco International Airport.
