Parking Permits Added to More Caltrain Ticket Machines

Parking Permits Added to More Caltrain Ticket Machines

Beginning April 27, Caltrain riders who park at the South San Francisco, San Antonio or Palo Alto stations will purchase daily parking permits from the same machines that issue train tickets.

Paying for parking at Ticket Vending Machines is more convenient for Caltrain riders because, unlike stand-alone parking machines, the TVMs accept coins, bills, credit and debit cards. Riders pay for parking by entering the number of their parking space in the TVM. Customers do not need to display a parking receipt on their dashboard, saving them a trip back to the car.

The daily parking rate is $2. A monthly parking permit is available for $20 to those customers who purchase a Monthly Pass or buy two 8-ride tickets.

By the end of the summer all of Caltrain TVMs will sell parking permits. The machines at the San Mateo, Hillsdale, Sunnyvale and San Jose Diridon stations will be converted on June 15. On Aug. 4, the machines at the Redwood City and Mountain View stations will be converted. All stand-alone parking permit machines will be removed.
