Keep It Jazzy - Take Caltrain to Festival Aug. 7 - 9
Every August thousands of music fans converge on San Jose to enjoy three days of music and fun at the AT&T San Jose Jazz Festival, which runs Aug. 7-9 in and around Plaza de Cesar Chavez.
After 20 years, the festival has become the largest, most endearing summer cultural event in Silicon Valley having grown from 56,000 to over 100,000 attendees in the last 3 years. The Festival's repertoire includes not only traditional jazz, but salsa, Latin jazz, Straight Ahead, Blues, Swing, R&B, Hip Hop, Smooth, Fusion, and more. It features local musicians and regional, national, and international artists as well as legendary performers.
You can keep the jazz in your step by taking Caltrain to the festival. From the San Jose Diridon Caltrain Station, take VTA’s Mountain View light rail line and get off at the Convention Center stop. The last train leaves the Diridon station at 10:30 p.m. on weekdays and Saturdays and at 9:00 p.m. on Sundays.
Caltrain is a Proof-of-Purchase system and requires passengers to purchase tickets before boarding. Buy a Day Pass to save time after the event. For more information about the schedules or fares, call 1.800.660.4287 (TTY 650.508.6448).
