Go Green – Take Caltrain to the Emerald Bowl Dec. 26

College football fans can help save the planet by leaving the driving to Caltrain as they head to the eighth annual Emerald Bowl at AT&T Park in San Francisco Saturday, Dec. 26 at 5 p.m. From the Caltrain terminal at Fourth and King streets, it’s a one-block walk to the park.

This year, the USC Trojans and the Boston College Eagles will face-off in the only bowl game this year to match Pac-10 and Atlantic Coast Conference teams. The game will be televised live by ESPN.

In addition to its regular service, Caltrain will operate a special train into San Francisco, arriving at 4 p.m. Two special trains depart San Francisco for the return trip. An express train to San Carlos leaves approximately 20 minutes after the game, or when full, and then makes all locals stops after San Carlos to San Jose Diridon station.

The second train departs San Francisco 25 minutes after the game, or when full, and serves all local stops to San Jose Diridon. Regularly scheduled trains offer a variety of departure times from San Francisco until 12:01 a.m., leaving fans plenty of time to celebrate before heading home.

Caltrain does not allow alcohol on trains after 9 p.m. following a special event. Disruptive passengers will be asked to detrain. For Caltrain schedules and fares, call 1.800.660.4287 (TTY 650.508.6448).
