Get Your Zazzle On – Pre-purchase Your Caltrain Ticket to Bay to Breakers
There’s more than Zazzle to celebrate at this year’s 101st Zazzle Bay to Breakers. For the first time, Caltrain One-way, Day Pass and parking permits valid only for the day of the race are available for pre-purchase at any Ticket Vending Machine.
Riders with a One Way or Day Pass can board the train simply by “flashing” their pass for Caltrain fare inspectors.
Four special northbound trains will provide service to the race (click here for Caltrain stations and times). The starting line is 1.4 miles from the San Francisco Caltrain Station. Participants can walk to the starting line or take Muni T-Third light rail. After the race, three express trains to San Carlos will depart San Francisco at 1:10 p.m., 2:10 p.m. and 3:10 pm. The trains will make regular local weekend stops to San Jose Diridon.
Groups of 25 or more can purchase individual Day passes (orders should be received by May 7. Click here for information.
Clipper users can tag and board at any Caltrain station. Riders with an 8-ride Ticket or e-cash, need to tag on before boarding and tag off at their final destination.
Caltrain’s Monthly Pass is honored for unlimited trips between all zones on weekends and holidays.
People who purchase Caltrain tickets on race day are advised to arrive at the station early and to expect lines at TVMs. Tickets will be checked before riders board the train and no one will be allowed to board without a ticket.
Although consumption of alcoholic beverages is permitted on Caltrain, intoxicated passengers will be cited and removed from the train. No kegs are allowed onboard Caltrain. No alcohol and floats will be allowed on the race course, according to the organizers.
Underage drinking is strictly prohibited and violators will be cited. Minors in possession of alcohol will be cited, removed from the train and detained until their parents can pick them up.
To keep runners updated, on the morning of the race, Caltrain will be tweeting with the latest information about the service. Follow us @Caltrain_news or go to www.caltrain.com/baytobreakers.
